The new auditorium at Bois-Caran Middle School features an innovative and educational lighting design.

Clarma handled the supply and full installation of the lighting solution, working closely with the architect Zid Architecture and engineer Anne-Caroline Cusin of CEMC Sàrl. The project’s concept is based on a unique creative approach: the arrangement of the light fixtures creates a composition of molecules and atoms, in harmony with the school’s educational environment. This visual metaphor transforms the room into an immersive learning space where the lighting itself becomes an educational tool.

Choosing the Hexagon S light fixture

The Hexagon S luminaire by Intralighting was selected for this application for several reasons. Its distinctive hexagonal shape fits perfectly with the project’s concept of molecules and atoms. Modular and versatile, this luminaire offers excellent light quality while allowing for flexible installation on the walls and ceiling of the auditorium. Its sleek, contemporary design harmonizes with the building’s architecture, while its energy efficiency makes it a sustainable and responsible solution.

The lighting project demonstrates how lighting technology can serve as a powerful educational tool. The creative approach and the Hexagon S luminaire transform the room into a vibrant space where the lighting design tells a story to the students.

The success of this project is based on exemplary collaboration among three complementary partners. Architect Samir Zid (ZID Architecture) led the creative vision for the concept, engineer Cousin ensured the technical feasibility and performance of the solution, while Clarma contributed its expertise in the supply and installation of the lighting fixtures.

Through constant information sharing and close synergy throughout the process, this trio was able to turn a creative ambition into reality. Each specialized contribution was enriched by the others, resulting in an auditorium where lighting becomes much more than a simple source of light: it becomes a vehicle for education and well-being within the school.

This project illustrates how true multidisciplinary collaboration creates results that exceed the sum of individual contributions, directly benefiting the school and its users.
