Maulini is the story of a family, with four generations of builders and a company of over 250 employees based in the canton of Geneva. In 2021, to celebrate its 111th anniversary, the company has opened a new headquarters in the commune of Satigny.

The design office was given carte blanche to design and plan a unique lighting scheme for the new building. The only constraint was to integrate acoustic panels to attenuate sound in the company's various administrative areas.

A perfect balance

Reducing noise in open spaces is often a complex challenge for architects. Finding the perfect balance between architecture, spaces, lighting and sound is no easy task. One solution is to plan the lighting to incorporate acoustic modules, which will attenuate sound and promote a more comfortable working environment.

Concrete and acoustic comfort

Thanks to its mass, concrete is an excellent sound insulator for airborne noise. Depending on its structure and surface texture, it can also act as an acoustic absorber. However, in large spaces with high ceilings, the use of acoustic panels mainly helps to attenuate noise and sound.

This is why, when planning the lighting, our design office was able to integrate acoustic modules with Gyon luminaires. This type of luminaire is the perfect solution for office layouts. The prismatic optic with a low glare index (URG<19) provides maximum visual comfort, without tiring the eyes.

Our job is to help customers find unique solutions that enhance architectural spaces.
