The expansion of Collège du Cheminet in Penthalaz, designed by the architectural firm Ferrari, embodies a contemporary and sustainable vision of school architecture. Beyond its innovative architectural design, the quality of the lighting in the classrooms plays a key role in creating an optimal learning environment.

Clarma was pleased to participate in this project, which incorporates Intralighting’s Minus C lighting fixtures into the classrooms. This strategic choice serves a fundamental purpose: to promote students’ well-being, concentration, and academic performance through innovative and tailored lighting.

Lighting at the heart of the educational initiative

The Minus C linear luminaire represents a revolution in lighting for educational spaces. It stands out for its flexibility, adaptability, and energy efficiency—qualities essential for meeting the sustainability standards of Collège du Cheminet. One of the Minus C’s key features is its “light around” effect. By illuminating the ceiling itself, this luminaire creates a visual sensation of a higher, more airy space.

This feature proves particularly beneficial in classrooms, where it generates a more open and less oppressive atmosphere, thereby promoting concentration and well-being among students. In line with the project’s Minergie P-Eco certification, the Minus C luminaires ensure reduced energy consumption without compromising on light quality. Their integration is part of Collège du Cheminet’s overall sustainability strategy, complementing the geothermal and photovoltaic solutions already in place.

Coordinating and managing the logistics of a school construction project is a major challenge. Unlike other construction projects, schools cannot close during construction: educational activities must continue uninterrupted. It was within this demanding context that Clarma handled the complete coordination of the supply and installation of the lighting fixtures. Clarma ensured strict adherence to delivery deadlines for each batch of lighting fixtures.

This logistical rigor proved crucial for maintaining the overall construction schedule and enabling the seamless integration of the lighting fixtures throughout the various phases of construction.
