Lighting Integrated into the Heart of the Architecture

As part of the development of the Business Center Geneva in Meyrin, Clarma was commissioned to design and supply the lighting solution for the building’s stairwell. A space that appears functional but is in fact the backbone of the building, used daily by all occupants, it deserved special attention from both a technical and aesthetic standpoint.

The challenge was not only to provide effective lighting but also to integrate the lighting seamlessly and continuously across all five floors, without any visual disruption or perceptible inconvenience for users.

A Custom Study for Precision Integration

To meet the requirements of this project, Clarma conducted a comprehensive study of the stairwell prior to any delivery. Precise measurements, analysis of structural constraints, and determination of lengths and connections: every detail was planned in advance to ensure the seamless integration of Ledixa’s Liten profile into the handrail across the building’s five levels.

The Liten profile, part of Ledixa’s Picolinea line, was chosen for its slim design and its ability to blend discreetly into an existing architectural element. Recessed into the handrail, it emits a continuous, even light that guides the path without ever being intrusive—lighting that guides as much as it illuminates.

Integrating lighting into a handrail that spans five floors is, first and foremost, a matter of careful measurement and planning. The quality of the result depends on what is done even before the first profile is ordered.
