Founded in 1985, Santa & Cole is an independent editor of thoughtful design objects, art and books headquartered in Belloch (Barcelona, Spain). It’s a practice rooted in a discerning eye: choosing pieces with intuitive precision, often created by others, and bringing them to light, sharing them widely, safeguarding authorship and championing their value.

With an aesthetic which leans more timeless than futuristic, Santa & Cole favors history over fashion, silence over noise. From spectacle to substance: if objects can be read, it’s because they have something to say.

These are slow-cooked products, crafted to last, designed to be passed down through generations. A way of seeing that finds meaning in the seemingly simple, placing value on quality, warmth and comfort born from the balance between craftsmanship and industry.

Renowned designers

Santa & Cole collaborates with renowned designers – including Miguel Milá, Antoni Arola, and André Ricard – to create timeless pieces that combine innovation with artisanal craftsmanship. Each object is designed to endure, to be passed on, and to integrate seamlessly into diverse environments. Iconic luminaires, such as Miguel Milá’s Cesta, perfectly embody this pursuit of balance between aesthetics, functionality, and emotion.

Each luminaire is designed as a source of warmth and comfort, capable of creating a unique atmosphere. Far from passing trends, the brand favors sobriety and timeless elegance, highlighting noble materials and a design philosophy that respects the environment.

Cesta from Miguel Milá

In the mid-1960s, during a stroll through Barcelona, designer Miguel Milá discovered an abandoned opal globe outside a glass factory. He decided to take it home, and over the years, this object became the centerpiece of a large family of lamps.
As its name suggests, Cesta – Spanish for “basket” – was designed to hold and protect this delicate shade. With its timeless design, it embodies simplicity, warmth, and Mediterranean elegance.

"A good idea, a simple execution".
Milá’s great contribution was precisely the creation of everyday objects of remarkable beauty and functionality—pieces of timeless modernity that subtly found their way into the lives of all Spaniards.

Colorful rectangular floor lamp with red, yellow, blue, and green panels, placed in a modern interior near large windows overlooking urban buildings.

Designed by Santa & Cole co-founders Gabriel Ordeig Cole and Nina Masó, La Bella Durmiente (Sleeping Beauty) is a totemic volume that explores the expressive potential of color, playing with contrasts between warm and cold hues. The result is a visually dynamic and balanced composition. Contemplation and imagination. A composition that nods to the geometric abstraction of Piet Mondrian or Theo van Doesburg.
